The certificate speaks for itself. Having shared the experience of being crammed into a brigantine sailing the Pacific with 23 other Young Explorers, Catherine recognized the importance of humor in confined spaces. How much more important is it in space, where quarters are even more cramped than on a sailing vessel, and everyone has to keep cool, sometimes even in life-threatening situations?
Real-time practice with a mockup of the Canadarm was a facet of the Space Camp Catherine attended. All the activities were designed to be as close to what happens in space as possible.
